Missions

At Worldia, we’re elevating our technology strategy by integrating AI as a core pillar of our platform.

As the AI Tech Lead, you’ll lead a newly formed team reporting directly to the VP of Engineering. The team will comprise yourself as the Tech Lead and two engineers who are just beginning their journeys in AI, offering you the opportunity to guide and mentor them as you collaboratively build AI-powered solutions. Your role will be pivotal in transforming promising AI concepts into internal tools and customer-facing innovations that redefine travel experiences.

This role is essential for internalizing AI-powered proof-of-concept projects previously developed by external resources, while leading new initiatives

The current tech organization

Four teams deliver the apps that create our core value:

• Curate - creation of our inspiring catalog of destinations and activities
• Plan - for the traveler to design his dream trip and put it in a shopping cart
• Connect - automatic purchasing of flights, accommodations, activities from our suppliers
• Operate - our internal tool to handle manuals changes and all unexpected events for our travelers

The Devops and Data teams are also crucial in our tech organization.

In this position, you will:

• Take on a hands-on technical lead role, building, optimizing, and deploying AI systems
• Collaborate closely with users and stakeholders to understand needs, scope projects, and refine tools and proof-of-concepts

• Mentor and upskill team members on AI tools and trends, fostering a learning environment

• Coordinate and guide external development resources to ensure quality and timely delivery

Lets talk about you

Qualifications:

Experience: 5+ years in software development / Machine Learning / AI, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in AI development, and prior experience leading or mentoring other developers. Ideally with previous experience in “classical” Machine Learning projects.

Technical Skills:

• Programming: Proficient in Python and standard software engineering best practices (environment management, ci/cd, git, etc.)
• Machine Learning Frameworks: Hands-on experience with at least one ML framework such as pyTorch for deep learning applications
• LLM/genAI experience: Familiar with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and prompt engineering
• Data Management: Strong data-handling and data management skills.
• Experience on the whole lifecycle of building an AI product, from building Proof of Concepts and exploring both product relevance and technical viability to the deployment of at least one AI solution in production

Soft Skills:

• Leadership Abilities: Prior experience leading small teams or mentoring team members, with a collaborative and inclusive approach
• Entrepreneurial Mindset: Self-starter with a proactive approach to exploring and applying new AI technologies to bring value to the team.
• Adaptable Learner: Self-motivated to expand your skills.
• Pragmatic Innovator: First with a curiosity for the business and where AI can help it with a pragmatic approach, you also keep a technical watch to understand how new technologies can be useful, and test relevant ones quickly.
